This business-in-the-front, party-in-the-back style has been around way before it was popularized by actors and rock stars in the 1980s. According to some historians, the mullet has been around since at least Ancient Greece, where the style was as much for function as it was for fashion. Cropped hair around the face with longer locks in the back allowed for both visibility and a protective layer of hair for your neck. It wasn’t until the 1970s when the mullet starting rising to modern mainstream fame, though, reaching its peak in the 80s when everyone from George Clooney to Metallica’s James Hetfield sported one. The peak of mullets ended in the early 1990s, but the style has never completely faded from relevance. It’s still proudly worn by rednecks and weirdos all around the world.

this looks like some of their mamas really wanted a girl
Today’s mulletheads, tomorrow’s gun-waving racists.
I’ve known many people who wore mullets in the 1980s who grew up to be sane, well-adjusted contributing members of society. The hair does not speak for the individual, but more to their parents. In these cases, most of these kids look pretty rad. A mullet is fine on someone 12-years old or young. When you get to 16 or older, one needs to rethink their hairstyle choices.

yikes but also woah
All you people are pathetic.
Long mullets hair, long tails (rat-tails)hair , long hair in general or boys doesn’t make you grow up to be a bad person. Boys shouldn’t be forced to get a haircut. I was forced to cut my hair till I was 9 or 10, it grew out a bit that summer and my dad and I had the biggest argument over my hair falling in my face that night at the dinner table. I told him I wasn’t about to cut my hair and hated that flattop he made me have since birth. 4 years later my hair was past the middle of my back. I loved my hair long. I know lots of boys with various styles of long including the mullet and tails. Some even longer than my hair was when I was 13. I personally think that a boy with a mullet is by far better looking than a boy with a buzz cut or having a man bun or even dreadlocks. I hate the buzz. I hate the man bun and I definitely hate dreadlocks, why destroy that beautiful hair having dreadlocks and what looks like your hair hasn’t been washed for months or even years.
