Papier-Mâché Masks by Liz Sexton Bring Animals To Human Scale

This Minneapolis-based artist creates large papier-mâché pieces of foxes, owls, and other wild animals designed to be worn by humans, creating a hybrid being that she often situates in non-natural environments. Liz Sexton began making her facial masks a few years ago after constructing a couple of Halloween costumes, although she’s worked with the versatile paper material for many years. Made of brown paper, paste, and paper pulp, each piece takes a few weeks to create.

  1. Thesecould be the ideal way to have people keep to their social distancing! Fabulous masks. I couldn’t even decide which I liked the best.

  2. How much for a raven, owl, and a pufferfish? 200$ each? Can I get a price please?

  3. The Quailephant. It’s a quail that is like an elephant. but it moves like a giraffe.
Don’t let the Quailephant know you
