The Indo-Pacific region is often where one may find choriaster sea stars, including places like the Philippines and the Great Barrier Reef. Choriaster sea stars have a distinctive, bright purple or pink color… with a little different shade of pink at the tips of their extremities. These sea stars are often found in shallow waters, where they feed on a variety of small invertebrates and organic matter. While it does look like it would like to bang you five times, it’s harmless to humans.

If you’re not familiar with it, “Cards Against Humanity” is a party game in which players complete fill-in-the-blank statements using humorous and often risqué or politically incorrect words or phrases printed on playing cards. The game is intended for a mature audience and is often described as “a game for horrible people.” Players take turns reading a “prompt” card, such as “I use _________ to better sleep at night.” and the other players choose from their hand of cards the funniest or most fitting response, such as “A spoonful of pee.” The player who chose the prompt card then selects the winning response, and the player who played it earns a point.
