Eris is a Russian wolfhound (also known as Borzoi), who has an extremely long 12.2-inch (31 cm) snout. Her owners claim that she may have a world record holder nose and they definitely wouldn’t mind if experts measured it. The couple from Richmond, Lily and Savannah, adopted her and brought her home in July 2018. Back then, she was just a pup, and no one even knew how long she and her nose would become and that Eris will turn into a Instagram celebrity.

our dog also has mandibular brachynathism, a disorder where the upper jaw overshoots the lower jaw. We had his lower canines removed because they punctured his palate and also had him neutered as this genetic trait is passed on.

This Borzoi dog, a Russian breed of dog, has a severely overshot top jaw and a severely undershot lower jaw. If you want a structurally correct Russian breed of dog like the Borzoi or the Black Russian Terrier dog, an American must import one or more of these dogs from Russia. Just determine which dogs are official FCI Grand Russian champions, Euro champions, and World Dog Show champions. A pup, coming from legitimate FCI champion parents, is tattooed and comes with legitimate health tests like x-rays, eye exam, ultra-sound, a variety of blood tests, thyroid exam, adrenal gland exam, hip and elbow x-rays. Always purchase a very young adolescent of 4.5 months old, which can undergo the full hip evaluation, where the laxity of the hip sockets is mathematically determined. If you want a structurally correct, healthy adolescent, be prepared to spend at least $5,500 on a Russian import. When these autosomal conditions occur, be prepared to spend thousands upon thousands of dollars on veterinary care. Some of these autosomal conditions like autoimmune disease are not visible. Do the homework. It takes about 2 to 4 years to find a healthy, structurally correct dog. If you can travel to Russia, it may take a shorter amount of time to find a good Russian-breed dog. There are many legitimate, world-renowned breeders in Russia. Conformation and IPO are an integral component of Russian and Eastern European culture and society. The poorest of poor Eastern European countries will have new, large, convention center facilities for dog shows. Everything else may be going down the toilet bowel in Russia and Eastern Europe, but not the conformation shows and the legitimate breeding of dogs. Nevertheless beware.
