Medieval manuscripts were the imageboards of their day, full of murderous illustrations, however for some strange reason many people look as if they were bored with life anyway and their killer did them a service all while enjoying it himself. Scroll down to see the funniest examples of medieval art where people are getting killed but just don’t give a damn.

“I know your intentions are evil, but I care not; my headache is finally gone.”
They were happy for leaving the hell middle age life and finally going to Valhalla! haha!
I haven’t read through all the comments but did anyone spot Greta Thunberg in painting number 4?
Guess it was just hard to portray emotion, specially since the action itself was the focal point.
half of these are a depiction of st. thomas beckett having his head split open in front of the alter.
They must have been aware of zombies back then, as they seem to all know to kill by going through the brain.
After many years of studying the Medieval period, I’d say the stoic look on the faces of those being killed remind me of pictures of Christians, possibly martyrs, ready to go to their heavenly rewards. And the shape of the swords are very cross-like, except maybe for the “weapon” removing the cataract. The looks on some of the faces of those doing the killing are tortured, as if they realize where they are going.
….And people say that video games desensitize us lol
Well, they would look happy, woudn’t they? They’re having their picture taken.
Never really put two and two together, shall look at ancient art with a more jaundiced eye.

Violence has been around for a long time. Will we be more kind come 2021?

I love how amiable all involved look in these depictions – if not downright amused.
Man, that’s how I want to go. No crippling fear, no intense sadness, no pleading to cling on to life. Just like, “alright just f***’n get this over with”.

Tbh, the last one looks like a meme
I notice the caption on the rather rotund King who is being stabbed is “Egion McMuffin.”

I am looking for an old illustration in a French Literature book printed some time in the 1880s.
An old woodcut illustration….
A man is walking down a narrow street when suddenly the windows across from him are thrown open and several men release a large number of crossbow bolts at him. They connect when the victim is trying to draw his sword.
At the same time, above him a window is opened and a man with a spear is stabbing downward.
I lost this book before I could copy the illustration.
muito bom!
“Guess it must be that time, see ya later ma! Don’t forget to feed my dog. Please. Thank you”
