Sure, nobody forces you to watch those real estate shows, but doesn’t it sometimes piss you off how unrealistic they are. We are not dumb, you know.
Almost makes you want to gift them a junk drawer starter kit to make their new home a bit more messy and realistic. You can get one of those on Amazon, btw. Let the peasants feel small and insignificant.
Smells like poverty up in here! *sniffs loudly*
Well… if their budget is $5M I don’t see a problem.
Unrealistic are the home remodel shows.
“We’re completely remodeling the kitchen with all new appliances, we’ll remodel both bathrooms, rip out the existing carpet and install new hardwood floors throughout the entire house, add some new lighting in key areas, and finally a few extra goodies thrown in for fun. Total budget is $10,000”
Bob won’t earn $5M in all his life combined. 🤣🤣🤣
I’d rather see a show find housing for couples who earn less than 6 figures per year or a single, working mom/dad.
“I’d rather see a show find housing for couples who earn less than 6 figures per year or a single, working mom/dad.”
The whole episode would be what? 30 seconds long?
An unqualified dreamer decides to build their new home in a ‘challenging’ location, using untested, cutting edge, technology designed for a totally different climate. The build doesn’t go to plan, the architect / project manager / builder walk out, someone gets cancer, an unexpected baby appears, the bank calls in the loans, etc. etc. Three years later… Great TV.
Every one of these shows I’ve ever watched: “money is really tight right now, so we have a strict budget of $500,000” (these people really don’t know what “money is tight” means). They see a beautiful house that is well within their budget: “I don’t like the wall color”. They see another beautiful house at their spending limit. The whole house looks brand new: “the kitchen and the bathroom are outdated and we’d have to remodel them”. (Both look 10x better than the kitchen or bathroom of any house I’ve every lived in or that any of my family or friends have every lived in.) They end up buying a house that is well over their “strict” limit.
Those shows are all scripted and fake. It’s called “reality TV” but nothing about it is real. It’s not just the housing shows. All those shows are fake. Same as those “Who’s the daddy” and whatever shows. All scripted. I knew someone who went to such a show. They told him what role to play and faked his background.
Also being on a reality show is not a qualification for anything else but another reality show.
U.S. are not a real country. It’s all fake. A company.
